Having clean and healthy water within our home is a top priority for our family. So, we just had our water treatment system installed by Culligan Water. My background is in the technology sector focused on creating memorable customer experiences through product design So, using that lens, I was impressed by the end-to-end customer experience provided by Perry Morin of Culligan Water. We have a new drilled well this year. The water was unclear and tasted bitter. So we had the water tested with two independent water testing laboratories. Culligan Water conducted their own water test, then sent out a sample to one of the independent labs that they trust. The test results detected bacteria, manganese, sediment, iron and hardness.Given the test results, Perry outlined product options along with the benefits of each. We decided to purchase the Aquasential Select Series Water Softener and Aquasential Select Plus Iron/Sediment Filter systems.Perry was very communicative throughout the process. This included explaining the installation steps, submitting proposal options, scheduling the work, and yeah, showing up on time. The quality of the installation with respect to the system layout, plumbing and water discharge lines were completed in a clean and professional manner. Many contractors don’t care about the appearance of how they install a system since it’s in the basement right. Yet, Perry consulted with me on how I wanted to layout the equipment and run the lines given we have future plans to finish out the basement. It’s secure, clean and professional. On many occasions, he took the time to explain, in detail, how the system works and showed me how I can monitor the status of the system through the control panels, even allowing me to video his presentation for future reference. He was a pleasure to with even while annoying him with lots of questions. We signed up for the quarterly sodium chloride maintenance plan, which is a great deal. Trust me, I did my research in looking at water treatment companies in our area before interviewing and hiring Culligan Water. In my opinion, they were the best choice, and I have now confirmed that decision. I highly recommend Culligan and Perry who rocks…best home investment we ever made.Paul
Charlie and the Culligan team came in and reviewed the water test after we had an Artesian well installed. They came up with a plan to handle all the issues including Arsenic, Iron and the usual suspect for hard water.Added to that we requested to have our outside water silcocks separated from the water softener, but wanted the Arsenic removed for watering the animals. The Team did an outstanding job And the finished price was more than reasonable.I would absolutely recommend Culligan of New Hampshire to any one in need of water treatment.
Thanks a lot to Charlie and the team for setting up a whole house filtration system. They did a great job, and saw it through even after it became clear the system they originally quoted might not be the right fit. They upgraded me to a stronger filter just to be safe, but they honored the original price. I appreciate that.
I had a great experience working with Charlie and his professional workers that installed my water softener.i am very thankful for calling charlie and getting good water .Thank you to the whole Team

#1 Hard Water Makes Your Appliances Less Efficient

Did you know that hard water is hard on your appliances?

It’s true.

Hard water can reduce the efficiency of your appliances by up to 48%, according to a study by the Water Quality Association (WQA). And that decrease in efficiency can lead to a 29% increase in your energy bills–costing you $1,500 or more over a 10-year period.

(And that’s just for your water heater. The same efficiency loss would affect your dishwasher and your washing machine.)

#2 Hard Water Forces You To Waste More Soap & Detergent

When you have hard water, you have to use more soap, detergent, and other cleaning products. Over time, this can become a significant expense.

Think about how much money you spend on dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent, bath & kitchen soap, lotions, and other household cleaners. Probably several hundred dollars a year, depending on the size of your family…and if you have hard water.

(That cost could be reduced by 75% or more with soft water.)

#3 Hard Water Reduces the Lifespan of Your Appliances

Hard water also causes a buildup of scale that can shorten the lifespan of your appliances by 30-50%!

In another WQA study, the heating elements inside water heaters using hard water failed after just 19 months. The water heaters using non-hard water lasted much longer—up to 15 years.

How Can You Tell if You Have Hard Water?

If you suspect you have hard water, here are some of the telltale signs to watch out for:
  • Mineral buildup in sinks, bathtumbs, and on your water fixtures
  • Spots on your dishes, glasses, and silverware that don’t come out in the dishwasher
  • Water heaters that fail sooner than they should
  • Soap scum in your bathtub or on your shower curtain/shower door
  • Faded clothing (especially clothes that used to be vibrant & colorful)
  • Dry, itchy skin and limp-looking hair
Or you can always contact Culligan to schedule a free water test. One of our technicians will come to your house and test your water for hardness and other contaminants.
